Team tasks
Bookings make the work. Your team finishes it.
Every reservation that ends creates a task: the turnover clean, the tap that starts dripping, the coffee that ran out. Hostibly assigns each one to a named person, shows you when it closes, and keeps the whole thing inside the system that already holds your calendar and your bookings. Your team signs in to the account you already pay for.

Where the work comes from
A booking that ends is a clean. A clean that goes badly is usually a maintenance job. A guest who arrives to an empty coffee drawer is a restock that never happened. Hostibly treats all three as the same thing: a task, on a property, with a date and a name on it.
| What happens | The task it creates | Who ends up owning it |
|---|---|---|
| AutomaticA booking ends, on any channel | Turnover clean for that day, planned to finish before the next check-in | The cleaner who works that property |
| You add itA clean turns up a dripping tap | Maintenance task added by hand, attached to the property | Your handyman, or you |
| You add itCoffee, tea and toiletries run short | Restock task dated before the next arrival | Whoever shops for that property |
| You add itAn owner stay ends on the Sunday | Clean and reset before the next guests arrive | The cleaner for that unit |
The first row is the one that matters. Because the clean comes from the synced reservation rather than a person typing it, the board is already right when Saturday starts.
The group chat has no memory
Most small host teams run on a message thread and a whiteboard in the cleaning cupboard. It holds up until two jobs land in the same week and one of them only ever existed as a message. Here is the same dripping tap, both ways.
Tuesday, in the thread
Property team
Marisol · Tue 11:48
Bay Cottage is done. The tap in the downstairs bathroom is dripping though.
You · Tue 11:52
Thanks. Tomas, can you get to it this week?
Tomas · Tue 11:53
Yep.
You · Sat 09:20
Tomas, did the tap happen? Guests land at three.
Tomas · Sat 09:24
No, sorry. Can I go tomorrow?
Nothing above is a task. Nothing above is dated. On Sunday the thread scrolls away.

Bay Cottage 2 · sleeps 6
- Noted Tuesday 11:48, on the turnover clean
- Assigned to Tomas R.
- Due before the Saturday 15:00 arrival
- Same board as every clean this week
It stays on the board until somebody closes it.
- It waits where you look
- The task sits on the board and against the property until somebody closes it, instead of depending on a person re-reading a thread four days later.
- One owner, not an audience
- A group chat tells everyone and asks nobody. An assignment names the person, so the follow-up has somewhere to land.
- Dated against the next guest
- The due point is the next arrival, not the next time somebody remembers. That is the difference between a fix and an apology.
What you see at three in the afternoon
Handing work out is half the job. The other half is knowing it closed, without driving past the property to check.

Everything the team runs on
- A task for every checkout
- Any synced stay that ends creates its turnover task, dated for the checkout day and planned around the next check-in.
- Assignment to named people
- Tasks go to team members on your account. The Team plan includes 5 users, with no per-cleaner fee.
- Maintenance and restock too
- Add the fix and the shopping run by hand, and they sit on the same board as the cleans, attached to the property.
- Dated against the next arrival
- A task carries the stay around it, so a same-day turn gets its clean in the gap that actually exists.
- States you can check at a glance
- Done, in progress and not started roll up per person and per property, before the guest tells you.
- Setup done with you
- Our team connects your channels and builds your first task list with you during onboarding.
Set the team up in an afternoon
Connect the calendars you already have, invite the people who do the work, and let the bookings generate the week. Our setup team helps with all of it.
- 1
Connect your channels
Paste the iCal link from each listing. Existing reservations import on the first sync, so the checkout dates are in the system before you invite anyone.
- 2
Invite your team
Add up to 5 users on the Team plan and assign tasks to the people who work each property. No marketplace sign-ups and no per-cleaner fees.
- 3
Let the week fill in
Each checkout creates its task and each task takes an owner. You open one board in the morning instead of scrolling a thread to work out what happened.
Hosts who handed the work over
Hostibly has made running my business a lot easier. The cleaner scheduling especially saves me a ton of time. Direct bookings have also helped me keep more repeat customers. It's nice not losing money to fees.
Daniel KingmaSuper HostWe've booked over $50k directly through our website in eight months with Hostibly. Unsurprisingly, local businesses love booking directly because our prices are better, and we offer discounts for longer stays.
BrandonProperty Manager and CohostI was a bit skeptical at first, but the setup service from Hostibly really delivered. All 14 listings were live in less than a month, and now my site genuinely reflects my brand and style.

Team task questions
Need help? Contact us here
- Is Hostibly a cleaning team management app or something bigger?
- Both, and the order matters. Hostibly assigns turnover cleans, maintenance fixes and restock runs to the named people on your account, and shows you what has closed. Around that sits the system creating the work in the first place: two-way channel sync, your direct booking site, automated tax invoices and your guest CRM, on one plan. If cleaning scheduling alone is what you are after, that is this same feature seen from the turnover side.
- How much does a vacation rental team task app cost?
- Dedicated tools price per property. Turno charges $8 per property per month, or $6 on an annual commitment, with the first property free, per Breezeway's own Turno comparison published in 2026. Breezeway lists $19.99 per property per month for portfolios of 4 or fewer units, per the HotelMinder listing, 2026. The Hostibly Team plan is $127 a month for up to 25 listings and 5 users, about $5.08 per listing at the cap, and it includes the channel sync, direct booking site, invoicing and guest CRM that generate the work in the first place.
- Do my cleaners need to install anything or join a marketplace?
- Team members are users on your Hostibly account, and the Team plan includes 5 of them, with no per-cleaner fee and no commission on any job. Turno offers its first property free, while its cleaner marketplace adds a commission of roughly 5% to jobs booked through it. You keep paying your own people directly, however you already do it.
- Can I create tasks that do not come from a booking?
- Yes. Bookings generate the turnover cleans on their own and you add the rest yourself: the dripping tap, the restock run, a deep clean, an owner stay, the gutters before winter. Each one attaches to a property and takes a due date, so it sits on the same board as the cleans instead of in your head or in a text you sent on Tuesday.
- How do I know a task was actually finished?
- Each task carries its checklist and its state, so the board shows done, in progress and not started, per person and per property, and an open item is visible while there is still a Saturday left to fix it.
- Is this just another app my team has to check?
- No. The tasks are generated by the reservations that cause them, dated by them and shown beside them, so nobody re-types a checkout into a second tool. Your team signs in to the one account you already pay for, and there is no second subscription. A standalone task app starts empty and stays empty unless someone maintains it. This one fills itself from your calendar.
- Is a team task app worth it for one property?
- The case becomes strongest at two or three listings, or the first week a maintenance job and a same-day turnover land together and you need one clear record of both.
